Financial Accountant - North Sydney - $125K Package + Bonus
Role Overview
Reporting directly to the CFO, this permanent, full‐time role is ideal for a hands‐on accountant who enjoys variety, ownership and working across accounting and compliance. The family office operates in a commercially focused, low‐bureaucracy environment with direct access to senior decision makers.
Responsibilities
* Daily cash reconciliations, trade settlement and investment/portfolio valuations
* Month‐end close, balance sheet reconciliations and management reporting
* Preparation and lodgement of BAS, payroll tax and other statutory returns
* End‐to‐end payroll processing (STP, PAYG, superannuation)
* Accounts payable and receivable
* Maintaining accurate general ledger records
* Cash flow monitoring and treasury support
* Liaising with external accountants, auditors and advisers
* Managing insurance renewals and related administration
* Supporting group structure documentation and entity compliance
* Contributing to ad hoc projects and process improvements
Required Qualifications and Experience
* A tertiary qualification in Accounting (CA/CPA qualified or close to completion preferred)
* 3‐5 years of experience in a Family Office, Fund Management/Financial Services, or Business Services role within public practice
* Strong accounting and tax capability, including statutory and compliance reporting
* Experience with cash management, reconciliations and portfolio accounting
* Advanced Excel skills (macros highly regarded)
* Excellent attention to detail and ownership of data accuracy
* Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior stakeholders
* A proactive, self‐sufficient approach
