Position Information
Castle Hill High School is a large, comprehensive secondary school with 138 teaching staff and 1825 students, 62% of whom are from a non-English speaking background. Specific Selection Criteria
* Proven ability to use data and assessment to identify priorities and lead improvement in teaching practice and student performance.
* Capacity to work in partnership as an additional Head Teacher of Mathematics, leading a large faculty and staff with high expectations, while demonstrating ability to develop, implement and evaluate high‐quality teaching, learning and assessment practices, including explicit instruction and HPGE.
* Demonstrated expertise in 7‐12 Mathematics curriculum and assessment, with the ability to guide the successful implementation of the syllabus through effective planning, programming, and evaluative practices and an ability to mentor staff in senior courses, particularly Extension Mathematics.
* Highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate staff, support professional learning and work effectively with students, parents and the school.
General Selection Criteria
* Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.
* Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.
* Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.
* Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents.
* Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.
* Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.
