As Finance Business Partner, you will lead a talented team of accounting professionals, driving initiatives that enhance financial performance and strategic decision-making across the University. You'll collaborate closely with senior leaders, providing trusted financial advice that informs major decisions and drives long-term success.
Your deep understanding of business operations and proactive approach will position you as a strategic advisor—someone who anticipates challenges, identifies opportunities, and delivers actionable insights. Your adaptability, curiosity, and leadership will ensure the University remains financially strong and future-focused.
Who we are looking for: Selection Criteria
* Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with area managers, gaining their trust to effectively influence outcomes and business decisions.
* Full membership of an internationally recognised accounting body (e.g. CAANZ or CPA) and ongoing maintenance of professional development.
* Exceptional proficiency in leading and managing teams, coupled with the capability to establish and uphold an efficient and customer-centric team culture.
* Demonstrated experience in recommending and making timely decisions in a self-assured manner, being sufficiently able to address a variety of stakeholders who have varying degrees of financial understanding.
* Ability to effectively apply conceptual and analytical skills to produce, assess and interpret financial information (including business cases) in context, offering best practice solutions.
* Demonstrated ability to provide analysis of financial information in strategic, innovative and insightful ways.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work to meet competing deadlines.
* Inherent ability to foster a culture of continuous innovation and improvement.
* Strong experience working in financial management for large and complex organisations.
Alongside the above position requirements, we are seeking a highly experienced financial management professional who can hit the ground running. We expect that you will have the necessary technical skills and experience to feel confident in your ability to advise and make informed decisions that add lasting value to our customers.
Role Requirements:
1. As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
