The Provisional Fellow position in Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery is available at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, from 02 February 2026 to 31 January 2027.

The purpose of the Fellowship is to provide specialist training in Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery to orthopaedic surgeons wishing to sub-specialise. Depending on the level of experience on entry to the Fellowship program, it is anticipated that the Paediatric Orthopaedic Fellow (on completion of 12 months training) would be proficient in the acute surgical management of paediatric trauma, paediatric hip conditions, foot and ankle, cerebral palsy, reconstruction, paediatric upper limb and paediatric sport knee conditions. There will be some exposure to paediatric spine during the 12 months of fellowship.

Selection Criteria

* MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
* Registered with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) as an Advanced Trainee or equivalent.
* Minimum two years of Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery Fellowship experience.
* Excellent communication skills with leadership and team building skills and a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals.
* Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
* Ongoing commitment to further education and professional development and demonstrated ability to teach, and willingness to participate in the teaching of Medical Students, Junior Medical Staff and other clinical staff
* Understanding of research methodology or research experience and a willingness to undertake research proposal.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent time management, problem solving skills, clinical skills, judgment and expertise.
