Strategic Leader Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced policy and strategy leader to drive strategic directions that strengthen our vocational education and training system.
This is a high-impact executive opportunity for a senior leader who thrives in complex environments and wants to shape the future of South Australia's skills and training system. The role plays a pivotal part in designing, leading and influencing strategic policy directions that drive innovation, trade, investment and workforce development.
As a senior leader within Skills SA, you will be responsible for shaping South Australia's skills system through intergovernmental engagement, the development of legislative and strategic initiatives, and leading high-impact research and evidence-based reform.
You will provide authoritative advice to senior leaders and Ministers, support the delivery of major policy projects aligned to workforce demand, and oversee system-wide quality assurance and compliance functions.
An experienced policy and strategy leader, you will bring strong analytical thinking, exceptional stakeholder engagement, and a proven record in influencing cross-sector outcomes. Your experience in government and public policy is complemented by the ability to translate complexity into impact, build effective partnerships, and lead with purpose and integrity.
This role requires a deep understanding of the Australian vocational education and training (VET) system and the ability to navigate complex policy landscapes. You will work collaboratively with industry, community, and academia to drive sustainable growth and raise productivity in South Australia.
A key aspect of this role is driving performance reporting, governance uplift, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across Skills SA. You will also be responsible for translating policy objectives into actionable plans and collaborating with stakeholders to drive implementation.
This is a unique opportunity for a senior leader to make a meaningful contribution to the future of South Australia's skills and training system. If you have a proven track record in policy and strategy leadership and a passion for shaping the future of vocational education and training, we encourage you to apply.
