About the role:
The Support Officer role is to provide workplace support to Merriwa's employees with a disability, and to assist them in achieving their goals. The Support Officer role supports employees to reach their full potential through attainment and development of skills and abilities while at work; while positively contributing to a work environment that places significant value on personal growth, respect, dignity and diversity.
In the role you will:
* Have excellent knowledge and experience in both verbal and written communication skills
* Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
* Have the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and deliver positive change utilising the principles of continuous improvement.
* Have the ability to liaise with staff at every level of the organisation.
* Develop and foster positive team relationships and provide professional advice and assistance to the business as required in relation to employment services for participants.
* Assist employees with disabilities in developing skills for packaging and production tasks
* Use a collaborative approach to work with employee that have a disability to undertake the development, implementation, monitoring and review of their Support in Employment goals.
* Training will be a key focus of the role, with weekly progress updates required in the employee's journal notes.
* Work alongside production teams to ensure a positive and productive experience
* Work with employee's with a disability. External support networks, to create positive opportunities for the employee whilst at work.
* Work alongside production teams and have an understanding of all workflows within the Packaging division, to assist the team with their efficiencies each day.

* Ability to work in a hands-on factory setting
* A positive and proactive attitude
Mandatory Checks and Qualifications:
Upon successful hire, the below requirements will be required:
* NDIS Worker Screener Check (essential)
* Working with Children Check (essential)
* Highly regarded - Certificate III or higher in Disability Support, Allied Health or Social Work, or relevant field
