Summary of Role
The NSW Department of Education provides education services and supports schools. This role involves preparation and maintenance of a Departmental agricultural plot at a secondary school, including crop production and disposal, machinery operation, maintenance of machinery, care and supervision of livestock, receipt and storage of supplies, and general farm maintenance. The role requires positive planning, prioritising and communication skills to work with others.
Responsibilities
- Assist with crop production and disposal; machinery operation; maintenance of machinery, tools and equipment.
- Care and supervision of livestock; receipt and storage of supplies; and general farm maintenance.
- Prepare and maintain Departmental agricultural plots in line with curriculum needs.
- Operate and assist with farm-related tasks as directed by supervisory staff.
Qualifications and Experience
- Good planning and prioritising skills and good communication skills to work effectively with others.
- Experience or ability to perform a range of agricultural tasks as described in the responsibilities.
