BX Bunka Australia, specifically Steel-Line Garage Doors is pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to fill the role of a Logistics & Warehouse Manager on a permanent basis.
You will be working in an exciting fast paced environment with an opportunity to gain experience in a wide range of tasks.
Working out of the Darra site, the successful incumbent will need to possess the following.
Duties:
Logistics-
• Manage the logistics activities of the manufacturing plant to maximise levels of operational efficiency, achieving daily targets, and meeting customers' requirements of expected level of service in products at premium standards of safety, quality, competitiveness and availability.
• Ensures that safe and efficient work practices and process improvement measures are conducted in the despatch.
• Liaise with external trucking companies to arrange availability of trucks and scheduling of deliveries so that products are delivered in full and on time to all customers, internal and external.
• Ensure correct capacity of trucks are pre-booked to ensure effective and efficient transportation of all goods being despatched
• Implement Strategies including Policies at Site
• Implement a system to manage occupational health and safety risks and supervise compliance with that system
• Ensure each task within dispatch has a Safe Operating Procedure
• Maintain continuous process improvement and offer solutions, monitor performance and report outcome.
• Be involved in the recruitment and interview process of new staff members.
• Training for new and existing staff members to include an agreed Skills Matrix
• Meet expected levels of service as measured by DIFOT. (Delivery in Full and On Time)
• Deliver outstanding Service to all Customers. Internal and External
• DIFOT (Delivery in Full and On Time) Includes rejects, late delivery and incomplete delivery.
• Track and report on freight costs by destination including return freight costs
• Review emails for urgent and must go stock
• Liaise with Production staff about the order of product required
• Maintain high standards at site and use 5s principles to achieve this
• Contributes to technology/knowledge transfers
• Undertake process and efficiency improvements
• Attend daily DOR meeting (Daily Operations Review) meeting
• Monitor and report on empty stillage (sectional) and skid (roller door) returns including stock on hand at Darra
• Supervise the loading of product
• Establishes and directs efficient packing, storing, handling and loading procedures
• Review production and shipment records
• Manage the safe use and repairs of all company equipment i.e trucks, forklifts etc
• Manage and control the use of department KPI Team boards to facilitate continuous improvements
• Logistics and transport
• Team building, coach and mentor team members where required
• Knowledge of transport COR requirements (Chain of Responsibility)
Warehouse
The scope of the duties and responsibilities of the Logistics and Warehouse Manager may include but are not limited to the following:
* Plan, organise, and supervise the day-to-day activities of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching goods.
* Monitor and manage workflow to ensure Warehouse operational efficiency and timely order fulfillment.
* Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality across all processes.
* Identify and resolve bottlenecks or inefficiencies within the warehouse operation.
Requirements
• Have a level of skill commensurate with 5 to 10 years of manufacturing/ logistic and management experience.
• Requires strong technical and problem solving skills, with particular talent toward capacity planning and setting of priorities.
• Should possess sound coordination and communication skills, needed to develop goals, objectives and employee motivation.
• Requires sound administration, resource planning and cost control skills.
• Specific expertise in quality control, health and safety and 5s process improvement is desirable.
• Should possess sound leadership skills, needed to negotiate industrial relations and to develop employee motivation and customer focus.
