Responsibilities will include:
- Own, develop and promote the Configuration and Knowledge processes
- Responsible for defining standards and policies for capture and maintenance of information about Configuration Items required to deliver IT services.
- Maintains a logical model, containing the components of the IT infrastructure (CIs) and their associations.
- Ensures that the IT organization is able to gather, analyse, store and share knowledge and information.
- Develop training materials
- Ensure that all Customer, support employees and Service Desk employees are suitably trained to operate the Configuration and Knowledge processes and provided with the appropriate documentation and information where needed
- Maintain information about configuration items required for delivering IT Services including setting requirements for naming standards, auditability of CI's and CI change history and provide a reporting capability to inform other processes.
- Ensure a robust review of configurations is periodically undertaken from a cost/efficiency perspective and that opportunities for consolidation/decommission are identified and tracked.
- Maintain a logical model containing the components of the IT Infrastructure and their associations and/or dependencies
- Ensure that service asset procurement and tracking processes are in place and operable
- Ensure that the IT organisation is able to gather, analyse, store and share knowledge and information with respect to deployed services
- Perform periodic configuration audits to ensure accuracy of inventory associated with delivery of services
- Maintain controlled knowledge entries in Service management toolset
**What you'll need to succeed**
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in IT or related discipline
- ITIL V3 foundation certification and demonstrated knowledge of and experience with a broad range of all ITIL and ITIL related processes
- ITIL Configuration Management Practitioner certification
- Significant general IT or business experience, with demonstrated experience in Configuration or Knowledge Management
- Demonstrated experience in the development of training material
- Demonstrated capability to provide input into research and to prepare documentation to
- Excellent comprehension of technical service design and interaction/dependencies of components.
- Thorough understanding of and skills to effect practical and efficient configuration/knowledge management and reporting. This includes an appreciation of all processes and tools that impact service management e.g., Service Desk, Enterprise Management, Service Introduction etc,
