The common objective of the Pharmacy Service is that patients derive maximum benefit from medications whilst being exposed to minimum risk. This purpose will be achieved by the deployment of a skilled and caring pharmacy workforce. The position will provide high level pharmaceutical services to the patients of Sunshine Coast Health Service in accordance with their needs and the policies and priorities of the health service.
Key Responsibilities
* Demonstrate a high level of clinical knowledge and skills in paediatric, neonatal and maternity services.
* Apply a broad understanding of provision of continuous multidisciplinary health care by supervising and undertaking liaison with community health providers and carers to ensure continuity of care between the hospital and the community after discharge.
* Professionally support a team of Women's and Children's pharmacists and/or clinical assistants, providing clinical pharmacy advice and dispensing services to inpatients, discharge patients and to outpatients from the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and other Queensland public sector hospitals.
* Provide supervision and leadership in the professional and technical development of pharmacists and clinical assistants working within the team, facilitating training and assisting in their performance management.
* Collaborate with other Portfolio Holders, Team Leaders and the Assistant Directors of Pharmacy (Clinical and Operational) in all medication management initiatives and to assist in the development of continuous quality improvement activities to ensure optimum patient medication safety.
Remuneration is based pro rata on equivalent full time value up to $157,359 per annum, comprising salary rates $64.64–$69.55 per hour, employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4). Fixed term temporary part‐time position available for 12 months, 60.8 hours per fortnight. Applications will remain current for 12 months.
