The Liberal Party is seeking applications for an Operations & Compliance Coordinator to join its Federal Secretariat in Canberra.

You’ll be the person who keeps things running smoothly day to day. From booking travel to keeping systems organised, you’ll make sure nothing falls through the cracks. You’ll support finance and compliance work, keep information clean and up to date, and work closely with teams across the office. It’s a fast-paced role that suits someone organised, switched on, and comfortable operating at pace.
What you’ll do
• Manage travel and accommodation bookings across the Secretariat
• Coordinate calendars, schedules, and internal workflows
• Act as a key point of contact for calls, inboxes, and visitors
• Prepare correspondence, briefings, and internal documents
• Maintain and improve databases, contact lists, and record systems
• Ensure data is accurate, current, and structured for reporting
• Support the finance team with data entry, reconciliations, and reporting preparation
• Assist with compliance processes, record keeping, and documentation
• Coordinate office logistics, suppliers, and general administration
• Support meetings, events, and internal coordination
What you bring
• Strong organisation and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• High level of discretion and judgement
• Clear and direct communication
• Confidence working with senior stakeholders
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel and Outlook
• Experience managing databases or CRM systems
• Exposure to finance or compliance processes is an advantage
• Interest in politics is useful but not required
An understanding of the Australian political system would be advantageous.
A salary package will be negotiated commensurate with the successful applicant’s level of skill and experience.
The position is Canberra-based. The position is full-time, but part-time arrangements would be considered for the right person. Remote or hybrid working arrangements will not be considered.
