About the opportunity:
We support customers in the Industrial Automation business in the Pacific Zone of Australia and New Zealand. We have an opportunity for a Software Technical Support Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Customer Success division, Pacific (Zone) and based in Macquarie Park NSW, the role ensures smooth operations for our customers, troubleshoot and diagnose faults across SCADA verticals and products we support including GeoSCADA, AVEVA System Platform and AVEVA Plant SCADA. The role collaborates with pre-sales, sales, quotes and procurement to focus on the customer's end-to-end experience with Schneider Electric.
The role is based in Macquarie Park NSW and involves regular communication with customers to deliver technical resolutions and a positive customer experience.
Responsibilities
Owning, investigating and resolving complex software issues, proposing workarounds for customers
Accurate and timely documentation of activities and findings in the case management system
Contributing to digital self-help materials and building an internal knowledge base for the team
Collaborating with colleagues in other support centres and departments
Focusing on customer experience with regular, empathetic communication while delivering technical resolutions
Learning continuously and actively contributing to the team and customers
About you / Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should demonstrate 2-4 years of experience in Application Support within an ASX Top 100 business, supporting mainstream software applications and a range of customers. This includes proficiency with software architecture, software unit testing, and other aspects of the SDLC. A tertiary qualification in Engineering or Computer Science is preferred, complemented by a working understanding of software and automation hardware communications and setup.
Key skills and experience:
Previous experience with AVEVA System Platform and Plant SCADA or GEO SCADA is advantageous
Understanding of Windows operating systems, networking concepts and security
Knowledge of Windows OS tools and commands for diagnosing and troubleshooting software
Experience with integrating hardware and software
Quick thinking, self-motivation and proactive action to maintain customer satisfaction
