Creative Producer Adult Audiences

About the Role

The Creative Producer, Adult Audiences coordinates and delivers a vibrant program of high-quality, engaging experiences that bring the Australian Museum to life and strengthen its place in Sydney's cultural landscape. From talks and workshops to music, live performances and after-hours events, this role produces innovative public programs that connect adult audiences with the Museum's exhibitions, collections and research.

Working closely with the Public Programs team and colleagues across the Museum, you will collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to develop programs that are relevant, accessible and inspiring. Through creative programming and live experiences, the role helps amplify the Museum's contribution to public understanding and fosters meaningful conversations around climate change, the environment and wildlife conservation.

You will be paid a competitive annual salary $99,938 - $110,271, plus employer's contribution to superannuation (currently 12%) and annual leave loading.

About you

We are seeking a self-motivated programming professional with a proven track record to develop and deliver a diverse range of paid and free programs, including talks, workshops, live events, and activations.

With experience in event development and delivery, you are passionate about creating dynamic, engaging programs that deepen understanding of First Nations cultures, natural histories, and climate solutions which appeal to our broad audience base.

You will bring strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and time management skills, and the ability to translate complex ideas into accessible and inspiring content. As a collaborative problem-solver, you'll shape and produce an engaging suite of programs that spark curiosity and strengthen people's connection with science, culture, and natural history.

Our adult-focused programs cover a wide range of topics. You'll work with internal and external stakeholders—including scientists, artists, educators, marketing and ticketing teams, and partners—to deliver a comprehensive annual program.

Knowledge & Experience

* Demonstrated experience in the arts and cultural sector including planning and delivery of a diverse range of programs, events and initiatives in a complex stakeholder environment with competing priorities

* Comprehensive knowledge of the arts and cultural sector, artists, performers and agencies

* Experience in working closely with artists, community groups and other stakeholders during project development, planning and presentation stages

* Effective relationship management with community, stakeholders and industry

* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise with a broad range of people

Essential requirements

* Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in Event Management, Science Communication, or the arts and cultural sector.
* Availability to work on weekends, public holidays and evenings when required.
* A valid NSW Working with Children Check
