Environmental Safety Manager
The Environmental Safety Manager is a critical role responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of environmental, safety, and health programs, procedures, work practices, and controls within the site. This includes all employees, whether Evonik or contract staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To implement and maintain all relevant environmental, safety, and health policies, procedures, and standards in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
2. To identify and implement necessary safety and environmental regulations, as well as voluntary industry programs, such as ISO 14001, to ensure compliance and conformance.
3. To lead and coordinate initiatives between Production, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Corporate departments to develop and implement effective systems that ensure compliance and adherence to company policies and management systems.
4. To ensure site compliance and conformance to corporate environment policy and procedure changes.
5. To develop and manage programs to ensure that plant operations follow and adhere to proven and standardized procedures, policies, and rules by all assigned team members, visitors, and customers while on-site.
6. Main point of contact for all EHS regulatory bodies.
7. Maintain and develop, if required, the necessary standards to ensure the security, health, and safety of personnel, visitors, and contractors on-site.
8. Manage and perform safety audits and efficiency testing, identifying deficiencies in work procedures, safe work behaviors, and develop remedial actions in consultation with the Management Team.
9. Train and coach personnel through the development of critical documentation and tools to support risk assessments, safe work practices, and adverse event/near miss reporting and investigation.
10. Responsible for establishing, tracking, and monitoring progress toward site and department goals.
11. Collaborate with Management Team to ensure continual improvement and compliance.
