Our Head Office is based on the Central Coast, New South Wales with additional depots located in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane, Townsville, Perth and Hobart. We have been operating for over 40 years and employ over 250 people.
About the role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Financial Accountant is based in our Head Office located in Somersby, Central Coast. This is a rare opportunity to lead the accounting and payroll functions within the Finance team. We are looking for candidates who have exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of team.
Duties
* Build and maintain effective relationships with Finance, and Business Unit Stakeholders.
* Mentoring and supervising Junior Accountants
* Monthly review of project costings.
* Assist in the preparation of the monthly Management Report with commentaries
* Management of the completion of month end close, review monthly journals and ensuring reporting deadlines are met
* Completion of monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliation review
* Preparation and management of compliance and tax policies, reporting and lodgement requirements including :
o GST/BAS reporting’,
o Income tax returns and Tax reporting;
o Fuel tax rebate reporting;
o Fringe Benefits Tax;
o Payroll Tax and Workers Compensation lodgement requirements,
o Payment Times Reporting Scheme
o Contractor reporting
* Prepare year end consolidated financial statements and manage responses to audit requests;
* Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting
* Involvement in ongoing projects and process improvement initiatives;
* Assist in reviewing weekly and fortnightly payroll;
* Driving improvements to financial policy;
* Other duties as reasonably required.
Skills & Experience
* Degree qualified with CA or CPA;
* Minimum of 3-5 years accounting experience;
* Highly developed MS Excel and MS Word skills;
* Proven analytical, problem solving and process management skills;
* Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with multiple internal and external stakeholders;
* Highly organised;
* You love working in a team environment;

* Experience using Jobpac
