The Role
They are looking for a maintenance hand to join their team. Your duties will include, but are not limited to, carrying out repairs, preventative maintenance, and operation of farm machinery such as tractors, telehandlers, forklifts, and other machinery. Additionally, you will be responsible for repairing fences, yards, on-farm infrastructure, and maintaining water systems.
As required, you will also be expected to help with grain handling and milling operations as part of your responsibilities and may occasionally assist with feedlot feeding and other general farm tasks. Furthermore, keeping precise records of equipment maintenance is essential.
The role is primarily Monday to Friday, occasional weekend work may be required depending on operational needs.
The Offer
The candidate will be offered a competitive hourly rate that will be based on their skills and experience. An on-site work vehicle will be provided, along with the necessary tools and equipment to perform the job.
The property is situated just 10 kilometres from the charming rural town of Allora, known as /'the friendliest town on the downs./' It is also 26 kilometres from the larger centre of Warwick and 71 kilometres from Toowoomba. The region boasts excellent schooling options, a variety of services, and plenty of work opportunities for partners.
The Ideal Candidate
Experience as a heavy diesel mechanic is highly valued, along with the following skills and attributes:
- Welding, fencing, and fabrication experience is highly regarded
- Familiarity with farm-based machinery maintenance or feedlot operations
- Ability to display initiative and work autonomously when needed
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a mature, rational approach
- Tech-minded and able to competently use a variety of phone apps
- Must have a current driver/'s license
- Candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and a farming background are encouraged to apply
