We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in
FRP (Formwork, Reinforcement, Pour)
,
steel reinforcement
, and structural works to join the delivery team on the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) project in Adelaide. The role will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of structural and concrete packages, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the delivery of
FRP, steel reinforcement, and structural works
, including bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and other concrete structures.
* Oversee daily construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, reinforcement detailing, FRP requirements, safety, and quality standards.
* Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, site engineers, and construction crews across
formwork, FRP, steel reinforcement, and concrete pour activities
.
* Monitor progress, manage schedules, and report on performance, risks, and project milestones.
* Review and interpret engineering drawings, reinforcement schedules, specifications, and ITPs to ensure construction accuracy and compliance.
* Prepare and manage work packs, method statements, risk assessments, and quality documentation for structural works.
* Liaise with clients, designers, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical, constructability, FRP, or reinforcement-related design issues promptly.
* Ensure all
FRP and steel reinforcement works
are completed in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and project requirements.
* Support the Project Manager with cost control, forecasting, procurement, and subcontractor management activities.
* Drive a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the construction team.
Skills and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
* Minimum
6–10 years' experience
in civil construction with significant exposure to
FRP, steel reinforcement, and structural concrete works
.
* Proven experience delivering major infrastructure or transport projects, ideally within road or tunnelling environments.
* Strong understanding of construction sequencing, temporary works, FRP, steel reinforcement detailing, and concrete structures.
* Demonstrated ability to lead site teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced delivery environment.
* Sound knowledge of Australian construction standards, WHS systems, and QA/QC processes.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
* Previous experience on the
T2D project or other large-scale DIT projects
will be highly regarded.
