Network Engineer – Datacom
Join Datacom as a Network Engineer and help deliver superior network solutions across Australia.
Overview
Location: Anywhere in Australia except WA (remote work allowed on Eastern side). Full-time, permanent. Security clearance: Australian citizen only; baseline/NV1 clearances a bonus.
Responsibilities
Design, implement and maintain WAN and LAN network solutions for Datacom and customers.
Configure, deploy, upgrade and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls and other networking equipment.
Support VPN, IP Address Management, DNS and telephony systems (IP‑based telephony).
Collaborate with customers and cross‑functional teams to deliver outstanding service and resolve technical issues.
Respond to evolving customer and technology requirements; adapt solutions accordingly.
Qualifications
Solid experience in network environments and networking protocols (LAN, BGP, RIP, NAT, OSPF/EIGRP, TCP/IP, wireless).
Hands‑on configuration and troubleshooting of router and switch technology (Cisco, Fortinet, Aruba, Arista).
Experience with DNS configuration and management.
Exposure to cloud solutions (Azure, AWS) and firewall/ security technologies (Fortinet, Checkpoint, Cisco, Palo Alto, IPS, VPN).
Knowledge of load balancing technologies (F5, Global Server Load Balancing).
Experience supporting VPNs and IP address management, NAT and PAT.
Industry certifications highly regarded; CCNA required, CCNP preferred.
