Are you a strategic marketer who loves bringing events to life and building genuine connections? Ready for a fresh start in early 2026 in a role where your ideas, energy and experience will truly matter?
The Landscape Association (TLA) is seeking an experienced Marketing & Events Manager to join our small, nimble and highly engaged team. This is a unique opportunity to step into a varied, industry-facing role where you'll help shape the future of two major flagship events while delivering meaningful engagement for a passionate membership community throughout the year.
About Us
The Landscape Association (TLA) is the leading industry association for landscape professionals across NSW/ACT. For more than 45 years, we've supported businesses, suppliers and professionals through advocacy, education, networking and standout events including the Landscape Excellence Awards and TLA Landscape Expo.
We're a small, friendly organisation seeking someone with big ideas and a strong focus on continuous improvement. Our team works closely together, values initiative and enjoys genuine connection with our members and partners.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with our new events working group, this role leads TLA's marketing, communications and events delivery.
You'll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering:
• Two large flagship events — the Landscape Excellence Awards & Gala Dinner and the TLA Landscape Expo
• A calendar of smaller member engagement, training and networking events
• Targeted marketing and communications that drive member engagement, growth and sponsor value
This is a hands-on, varied role suited to someone who enjoys autonomy, collaboration and seeing projects through from concept to delivery.
What You'll Be Doing
Marketing & Communications

• Drive engagement and attendance across events, programs and initiatives
• Deliver membership acquisition, retention and referral campaigns
• Oversee digital channels including website, EDMs and social media
• Manage brand presence and sponsor visibility across all platforms
• Analyse campaign performance and report on outcomes
• Lead and support a Marketing Coordinator and external service providers
Events
• Manage end-to-end delivery of all events — planning, budgeting, logistics, suppliers and on-the-day execution
• Shape event programs and content in collaboration with the CEO and Board working group
• Build strong relationships with members, sponsors, speakers and stakeholders
• Develop strategies to grow attendance, enhance member value and ensure event profitability
• Oversee post-event evaluation and continuous improvement
About You
You're organised, proactive and thrive in a small-team environment. You enjoy variety, take ownership and build strong relationships with ease.
You'll bring:
• 3+ years' experience in a similar marketing, communications and/or events role
• Highly desirable experience working within an association, membership-based or not-for-profit organisation
• Proven experience delivering events (flagship events a strong advantage)
• Strong copywriting and content skills
• Confidence managing multiple projects and deadlines
• A calm, solutions-focused approach
• Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills
• A friendly, collaborative and can-do attitude
Experience with EventsAIR, CRM systems, Mailchimp and digital marketing platforms will be highly regarded.
