Seeking a proactive leader to oversee daily operations at our site in Northwest Tasmania
We are looking for a dedicated individual to become the backbone of packshed and logistics operations at our farm business.
This is a hands-on role, so while you'll be leading the team, you'll also be comfortable rolling up your sleeves and jumping in to support wherever needed.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee all logistics, processing, staffing, safety and quality across the site. You'll be accountable for achieving safety, quality, service, and financial targets while developing an engaged, high-performing team.
This role is ideal for someone with operational management experience who enjoys being both strategic and practical.
Only applicants residing within driving distance of the farm office or those willing to relocate will be considered. The farm office is located in Wesley Vale, TAS.

Key Responsibilities
* Logistics Coordination: Working closely with logistics and transport teams to ensure packed produce is delivered to the packshed on time, and to the customers on time.
* Sales and Supply: Collaborating with farm management and sales to align packing schedules with harvest yields and market demands.
* Process Oversight: Managing and optimizing all stages, including receivals (raw product coming in), vacuum cooling, storage, packing, and dispatch (shipping).
* Efficiency and Throughput: Developing and implementing systems to maximize production volume and efficiency while minimizing waste (shrink) and labour costs.
* Equipment Management: Overseeing the operation, maintenance, and scheduling of packing machinery, sorting equipment, and cool storage facilities.
* Inventory Control: Managing and tracking produce inventory, packaging supplies, and coordinating stock movement.
* Staff Management: Recruiting, training, supervising, and mentoring staff, including line supervisors, graders, and general labour.
* Scheduling and Labor Planning: Developing short, medium, and long-term labour plans and creating daily staff rosters to meet production demands efficiently.
* Performance Management: Monitoring staff performance, providing feedback, and managing disciplinary actions.
* Safety Culture: Driving a proactive Work Health & Safety (WHS) culture and ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols.
* Quality Control: Establishing and enforcing strict quality standards for all packed produce to meet customer and market specifications.
* Food Safety: Ensuring strict compliance with food safety regulations and certifications, specifically HARPS (HACCP), and Freshcare.
* Audits: Preparing the facility and staff for, and successfully navigating, internal and external food safety and quality audits, and labour audits.
* Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and detailed documentation for all operations, including pack-outs, quality checks, employee timecards, and dispatch data.
Ideal Candidate for this role:
* Tertiary degree in a relevant field (e.g., communications, process management, logistics) preferred but not mandatory depending on number of years relevant work experience in a similar role
* A minimum of 1 year managerial level experience in food processing, warehousing or logistics required
* Proficient in technology, communications, logistics and business administration
