Do you love getting your hands dirty in the kitchen and bringing fresh, exciting food to life? We're looking for a passionate Commis Chef to join our incredible team at the Royal Oak Hotel and Prince of Wales Hotel Penola.
We are seeking a motivated Commis Chef to join us in a Full-time role (open to Part-time for the right candidate). This position will see you working across both venues, giving you the opportunity to experience a variety of service styles, menus and kitchen environments.
Key responsibilities:
* The ability to work cohesively in a small team;
* Manage time through effective planning to maintain a high level of productivity;
* The ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
* Motivate team members through positive behaviour;
* High standards of food presentation, cleanliness, punctuality and organisation; and
* Participate in and reinforce the organisation of cost controlling and waste management of food.
Requirements:
* Minimum qualification of Cert 3 in Commercial Cookery completed;
* Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures;
* Previous experience in a hotel, pub or restaurant;
* Full Australian working rights;
* Motivated, disciplined and a strong passion for food;
* The ability to communicate effectively with team members; and
* Understanding of industry standard hygiene practices.
