This roster is 8/6 and a 12-hour day.
About the role
Reporting to Geotechnical Superintendent, your primary responsibility will be to manage risks and proactively identify geotechnical hazards associated with mining operations of Ernest Henry. This will involve
* Designing the sequence of ore extraction across sublevels to control subsidence and seismicity.
* Continuously assessing changing ground stability conditions
* Providing recommendations to adjust excavation and blasting practices to maintain the safety and productivity of the mine
About you
You will come with previous experience as geotechnical engineer working in either an underground or open pit mine (civil geotechnical experience is welcome). You will hold bachelor's degree in civil engineering, mining engineering or Geology and as a proficient user of geotechnical software, you will be able to identify ground stability problems and perform analysis. You will work well in a team and value collaboration in order to achieve goals and targets.
