About the Role
The Community Officer supports the Centre Coordinator in providing early childhood and family-focused initiatives at the Child and Parent Centre.
Maintain established relationships with relevant organisations, develop and engage in networking opportunities, and stay up-to-date on community needs.
Undertake research and project work when required, assist in planning, facilitation, and organisation of group parenting sessions for parents, families, and children.
In consultation with the coordinator, develop strategies to engage parents and families within the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver early childhood and family-focused initiatives in partnership with the Centre Coordinator.
* Maintain existing relationships with key stakeholders and build new connections as needed.
* Conduct research and undertake projects to support the centre's goals and objectives.
* Assist in planning, facilitating, and coordinating group parenting sessions.
* Collaborate with the coordinator to develop strategies for engaging parents and families in the community.
Requirements:
* Tertiary level qualification in Early Childhood, Community Development, or Human Services.
* Knowledge of child development, National Quality Standards, and Early Years Learning Framework.
* Experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds and dialects.
* Highly effective communication skills.
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
