GP Telehealth Locum - Afterhours, Weekends and Public Holidays
We are seeking an experienced After-Hours Telehealth GP Locum to join our team. This flexible role allows you to work remotely while making a meaningful impact in aged care.
About The Role
As an After-Hours GP Locum, you will:
* Conduct after-hours telehealth rounds for residential aged care facilities.
* Provide acute medical support, clinical oversight, and continuity of care for residents.
* Update medication charts, issue prescriptions, and order investigations as needed.
* Manage and follow up on acute issues raised by facility staff.
* Communicate with family members and provide referrals to specialists where required.
* Ensure accurate and timely documentation within 30 minutes of completing rounds.
Please note: applicants subject to the 10-year moratorium are not eligible for this position
Work Schedule
The schedule includes:
* Weekday evenings: 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm
* Weekends: 9:30 am – 12:30 pm | 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm | 6:30 pm – 9:30 pm
* Average 4 consultations per hour, depending on case complexity.
* Consultations may be initiated by either residents or facility staff.
* Full administrative support provided.
About You
You are a compassionate and adaptable GP who embraces innovative models of care and values flexibility. You will bring:
* Current AHPRA General or Specialist Registration.
* Experience in residential aged care or primary care settings (highly regarded).
* Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills.
* Confidence using telehealth platforms and electronic medical records.
* A collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
* Reliable internet connection and your own laptop.
