Senior Systems Engineer
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in leading complex engineering activities for our Defence clients, providing expert technical guidance and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for performing complex engineering tasks, including engineering change proposals, configuration control boards, and support system working groups. They will also liaise with stakeholders and manage contractors to obtain or provide engineering advice.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering processes and activities in Defence, experience liaising with multiple stakeholders, and proven capability in exercising engineering authority and operating within regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform complex engineering tasks, including ECPs, CCBs, and SSWGs
* Liaise with stakeholders and manage contractors to obtain or provide engineering advice
* Exercise assigned engineering authorities and comply with technical regulatory delegations
* Apply engineering judgment to identify issues and uncertainties
* Provide expert advice and recommendations for the advancement of engineering principles, techniques, methods, and regulations
* Evaluate delivered materials and ensure compliance with requirements, policies, legislative, and regulatory frameworks
* Monitor and address safety considerations within engineering change management processes
* Manage team and work area workflows and resources
Requirements:
* Demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering processes and activities in Defence
* Experience liaising with multiple stakeholders and managing contractor relationships effectively
* Proven capability in exercising engineering authority and operating within regulatory frameworks
* Strong analytical skills for identifying and addressing engineering issues and uncertainties
* Proficiency in providing technical advice and recommendations for process and technical improvements
* Experience assessing, planning, reviewing, and implementing actions for technical packages and engineering tasks
* Ensuring compliance of deliverables with relevant requirements, regulations, and safety standards
* Team leadership experience, including mentoring engineers, fostering teamwork, and maintaining positive working relationships
* Resource and workflow management, including preparation and monitoring of work plans
