Assembly Mechanic Job Overview
The Assembly Mechanic role is a critical position in the production team, responsible for completing mechanical build tasks for vehicles and subsystems.
This role involves working with various teams to ensure seamless production processes, adhering to strict quality standards and safety regulations.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent mechanical skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
* Complete assembly tasks for vehicles and subsystems according to manufacturing instructions and engineering drawings;
* Rework assembly tasks to include fitting protection plates, brackets, and electronic subassemblies/cables/labels;
* Assist with vehicle movements within the facility, adhering to site rules and licensing requirements;
* Perform crane operation and lifting tasks safely and efficiently;
* Maintain the safe and efficient storage of required parts, tools, and equipment in workshop areas;
* Conduct self-assessments and work in accordance with company and site-specific WH&S requirements;
* Other duties as determined by your manager from time to time.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Certificate III in Heavy Diesel Mechanic or equivalent qualification;
* Ability to read and interpret production drawings, manuals, and technical documents;
* High level of self-motivation, initiative, ability to work unsupervised, and willingness to participate and contribute as part of a team;
* Ability to travel interstate or overseas for short training periods if necessary;
* Eligibility to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (Australian Citizenship required).
