About the opportunity
The Faculty of Science is currently seeking to appoint a Project Manager, Research Strategy. You will be responsible for the organisation of large or complex projects for the Faculty of Science relating to research strategy (often with a Faculty wide impact), including defining roles, responsibilities, and performance indicators.
The Project Manager will develop and communicate the project charter, establish project management methodology, and design project processes. You will develop and implement project plans and effectively manage project activities and deliverables within budget and agreed time frames.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
* manage the development of strategic projects for the Faculty of Science Research & Research Training Portfolio
* manage overall project organisation, including defining roles, responsibilities, and performance indicators for project staff
* provide effective leadership of Faculty staff to ensure understanding and buy-in and cooperation for project implementation
* establish and communicate the project management methodology, processes, and templates to the project team
* develop and implement project plans, ensuring accurate definition of phases, objectives, activities, timelines, and milestones
* manage project activities and deliverables within budget and agreed time frames, making necessary adjustments as needed
* manage project financials, including budget allocation and monitoring expenditure.
About you

* a degree or diploma qualification in a related field plus relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience

* the ability to demonstrate critical thinking and decision making
* excellent communication skills both oral and written
* demonstrated strong relationship management skills with significant experience managing multiple diverse internal and external stakeholders
* demonstrated experience managing budgets and expenditure
* experience in the tertiary education sector or large scale research environments.
