With a strong foundation already in place, the firm is now seeking an experienced Practice Manager to support the ongoing effectiveness, structure and performance of the business.
The Opportunity:
This is a senior, hands-on Practice Manager role reporting directly to the principals and playing a key part in the operational and people management of the firm. The position suits someone who enjoys broad responsibility, works comfortably across finance, HR and operations, and brings calm judgement to a trusted leadership role within an established environment.
Please note, this role if fully office based, no hybrid or remote working is available.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Providing operational and strategic support to the principals, contributing to planning, decision making and the smooth running of leadership meetings including preparation, minutes and follow up actions.
* Overseeing the day-to-day administration and financial management of the practice, including trust and office accounts, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, billing processes, debtor management and payroll.
* Monitoring workflows, time recording, WIP and utilisation to support performance and delivery across individuals and teams.
* Managing all core operational functions of the business, including suppliers, assets, stationery, archiving and general office management.
* Leading and overseeing all human resource functions, including recruitment of administration staff, inductions, performance reviews, staff meetings, training coordination and ongoing team support.
* Providing leadership to staff, fostering engagement, professionalism and accountability across the practice.
* Maintaining oversight of internal systems and technology, liaising with external IT providers and managing minor day-to-day IT issues.
* Coordinating internal projects, process improvements and operational initiatives to support efficiency, compliance and continuous improvement.
Your Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience as a Practice Manager, Business Manager or Office / Administration Manager within a professional services environment.
* A strong operational understanding of how professional services firms function, including time recording, workflows, WIP management, billing and debtor processes.
* Solid financial administration capability, with confidence across bookkeeping, payroll and general practice finances.
* Demonstrated experience across HR functions, including recruitment, performance management, training and staff engagement.
* Well-developed project management skills, with experience delivering internal improvements, system upgrades or process changes.
* High levels of organisation and reliability, with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining oversight of daily operations.
* Confidence working closely with principals, alongside the discretion and judgement required of a trusted senior support role.
* Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support a diverse tea.
