The Village Kiosk is a warm and welcoming spot right on the beach that prides itself on serving quality food, drinks, and exceptional customer service. Located at the heart of the Toowoon Bay community, we provide a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where locals and visitors can enjoy a great cup of coffee, delicious food, and friendly conversations.
Your role.
As the Cafe Manager, you will:
* Bring the cafe's vision to life
* Oversee day to day operations, ensuring the cafe runs smoothly
* Manage and motivate our team, fostering collaboration and a positive work environment
* Maintain the highest standards in customer service, ensuring our customers have a great experience
* Monitor inventory, manage supplies, and liaise with suppliers
* Ensure cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with food safety standards
* Assist with staff scheduling and administrative tasks
What we are looking for.
We are searching for a dynamic, hands on leader who is experienced in cafe management and has a genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role requires someone who will work on the floor alongside the team, leading by example, and ensuring the smooth operation of the cafe at all times.
Key requirements:
* Cafe Management Experience: Proven experience in cafe or hospitality management, with the ability to oversee daily operations and drive a positive team culture.
* Expert barista skills: Highly skilled as a Barista, with at least 3 years' experience in a busy cafe environment, including knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment.
* Food prep assistance: Willingness to assist with food preparation and other kitchen tasks when required to support the team.
* Hands on leadership: Comfortable working in a hands-on capacity, leading from the floor and supporting the team during busy periods.
* Team leadership & communication: Strong organisational and communication skills to effectively lead and inspire the team.
* Flexibility: Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and weekends, to meet the demands of the business.
* Customer focus: Passionate about coffee, food, and creating a welcoming space for every customer who walks through the door.
* Positive attitude: A can-do approach and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Food safety knowledge: Holds relevant food safety certifications (or is willing to obtain) to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
