Urangan State High School is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Computer Assistant to support the effective delivery of ICT services across our school. Responsibilities
* Provide technical support to staff and students across a range of hardware, software, devices, and systems
* Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computers, printers, networks, and classroom technology
* Assist in the administration and maintenance of school ICT infrastructure, including user accounts and access permissions
* Coordinate and prioritise ICT support requests to ensure timely resolution
* Support the rollout of new technologies, upgrades, and system improvements
* Maintain accurate asset registers, documentation, and service records
* Ensure compliance with departmental, privacy, and cybersecurity policies
* Provide guidance and mentoring to junior support staff where required
* Work collaboratively with school leadership and teaching staff to support digital learning initiatives
Must-Have Skills and Experience
* Demonstrated experience providing ICT support in a busy environment
* Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows devices, printers, networks, and common software applications
* Experience managing user accounts, permissions, and device deployments
* Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
* Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team environment
* Current knowledge of cybersecurity and data privacy best practices
* Hold a current Blue Card & Orange Card
Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience
* Previous experience working in a school or education setting
* Experience with Microsoft 365, Intune, Active Directory, or similar systems
* Knowledge of audio-visual/classroom presentation technology
* Experience supporting BYOD programs or student devices
* Relevant ICT qualifications or certifications
* Experience supervising or mentoring staff
