We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Fixer to join our construction team. This role involves assembling, positioning, and securing structural steel components for building frameworks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with engineering specifications.
Key Responsibilities
* Read and interpret structural and shop drawings
* Assemble and install structural steel elements (beams, columns, frames)
* Position, align, and secure steel components using bolts, welds, or rivets
* Work with cranes and lifting equipment to place steel safely
* Check levels, alignment, and structural integrity
* Coordinate with riggers, crane operators, and site supervisors
* Ensure all works comply with engineering standards and tolerances
* Maintain strict adherence to WHS and site safety procedures
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience in structural steel erection or steel fixing
* Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural/shop drawings
* Experience working with steel components and lifting operations
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* White Card (mandatory)
* Working at Heights ticket (recommended)
* Ability to work in a team and follow site instructions
