Engineer
Unison Joints is a recognised designer, manufacturer and supplier of specialised building & seismic expansion joints in Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East. Unison products are used in construction sectors including retail, hospitals, stadiums, transit centres, multi-level carparks and more. Unison is situated in a niche industry, within the architectural product-supply sector. Operators within our niche industry have the satisfaction and associated benefits from providing aesthetically pleasing, functionally engineered products to significant local and international projects such as Queens Wharf Brisbane, where Unison product are being employed. Unison is also specified with major retailers such as Coles, Woolworths and Westfield. The business is now enjoying sound growth and expanding.
We are currently looking for a highly motivated Engineer to join our project team. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Project Manager, and responsible for assisting with winning, organising, managing production, for project-related orders. The successful member will have special knowledge in:
* Identifying joint locations on plans including large commercial structures
* Understanding of requirements for building construction elements
* Handling multi-directional movement specs
* Identify extrusions from building elements.
* Details waterproof sealing requirements
* Draws precise cover profiles.
Key duties will be:
* Quantity survey off PDF;
* Excel spreadsheet tabulation & summary.
* ACAD section detailing.
* Accurately extract information from architectural plans and structural plans
* Assist in design of metal/composite products.
* Collaborates with the Project Managers.
To successfully secure this position you need to demonstrate:
* Proficient in Bluebeam Revu for quantity takeoffs
* Experienced in Auto CAD. Preferable with skills in Sketch-Up.
* Expert in utilising Microsoft Office software, especially Excel.
* Commitment to WH&S, Quality Assurance and Environment.
* Energetic and deadline focused with attention to detail.
* Manages drawing revisions quickly.
* Good problem-solving ability.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Qualification and Experience Requirement:
* Degree of Structural or Mechanical Engineering (obtained from an Australian tertiary institution)
* 2 years drafting experience
* Familiar with Australian building codes
