Higher Ground Education is bringing on a Facilities Maintenance Lead to help support and manage our schools’ facilities needs for our Northern Virginia schools!
These are important roles for the Facilities team, and we’re looking for customer-oriented individuals who are both clear communicators and possess strong technical skills. Responsibilities
The Facilities Maintenance Lead is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks. We are looking for a jack-of-all-trades who can do small repairs and troubleshoot issues that can be resolved with a "do it yourself" fix for the schools' buildings and facilities. Performs general cleaning and other tasks as assigned. This is a full-time, non-exempt hourly position, reporting to the Regional Manager. Must be able to work flexible hours.
The Facilities Maintenance Technician will
* Paint, remodel, refurbish areas as needed
* Repair, maintain, and monitor equipment and amenities
* Prepare classrooms for incoming classes
* Change light bulbs, interior and exterior, as needed
* Perform small repairs and support diagnosing issues
* Perform other work-related duties as assigned
* On-call maintenance for all facilities in the region
Skills
We’d love to talk to you if you have…
* High school education or equivalent
* 5-8 years of experience in facilities maintenance
* Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, or carpentry
* Ability to work with minimal supervision
* Organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task
* Excellent communication and follow-through skills
