The opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Risk, Governance and Regulation Team in Elders Insurance, a growing business in QBE AUSPAC division. Elders Insurance operates as a joint venture 80% owned by QBE and 20% by Elders Rural Services ownership.

Reporting to the Head of Risk, Governance and Regulation you will support the relevant function in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements related to Risk and Governance. This involves coordinating and managing various aspects of compliance, working closely with internal stakeholders such as Compliance, Risk, Company Secretarial, and Legal to uphold regulatory standards.

Your new role

As a Compliance and Governance Specialist your key responsibilities will include;

* Coordinating quarterly papers for the Elders Insurance Underwriting Agency (EIUA) Board and Elders Risk and Compliance Committee
* Managing the Sale of Servicing Rights process and annual EIUA Disclosure Document
* Managing any oversight and supervision of Franchise requirements
* Responding to adhoc compliance and governance queries from the Elders Network and EIUA stakeholders
* Monitoring and tracking regulatory developments and representing Elders interests for these projects
* Leading and managing Compliance and Governance reporting
* Incident Management remediation, analysis and assisting QBE Compliance Team with investigations into legislative and code breaches
* Managing quarterly compliance reviews as part of EIUA Agency Remediation Framework

About you

To be successful in this role you will have proven experience in a similar role working in a regulated industry, with insurance, banking or superannuation preferred.

You will also have;

* Strong understanding of financial services laws, regulation and general insurance code of practice
* Strong written and communication skills, with an eye for detail
* Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills and demonstrated commercial acumen
* Ability to work autonomously
