Northern Adelaide Local Health Network – Lyell McEwin and Modbury Hospitals – Elizabeth Vale and Modbury

Salary (plus Superannuation and Salary Sacrifice benefits):

* AHP2 $91,785 - $106,330 p.a.
* AHP3 $108,347 - $116,216 p.a.

Temporary Full-Time, up to 12 February 2027

About the Role

In this pivotal position, you will deliver comprehensive and evidence-based assessment, intervention and discharge planning for patients with diverse needs across a wide range of clinical presentations in an acute care setting. Your expertise in dysphagia and communication management and collaborative work within multidisciplinary teams will contribute to optimise patient functional and health outcomes in this specialty area.

You will also play a vital role in supporting the development of our workforce. This may include providing guidance to less experienced clinicians, allied health assistants and students, as well as contributing to research and quality improvement initiatives within the acute setting. Working closely with the Senior Speech Pathology Team, you will help ensure high standards of clinical practice and compliance are consistently upheld.

Based primarily at the Lyell McEwin Hospital with possibility of working across other NALHN sites including Modbury Hospital you will join a collaborative, forward-thinking team dedicated to delivering comprehensive and compassionate speech pathology services to a diverse patient population. This role offers the perfect balance of clinical challenge and professional development, empowering you to grow your expertise in a supportive environment.

Appointment to the role will be at the AHP2 or AHP3 classification, dependent on the level of experience. Those interested in part time work are also encouraged to apply.

To be eligible for this position, you must hold an appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of Speech Pathology Australia.

About You

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced and motivated Speech Pathologist with a passion for acute care.

You will have strong clinical reasoning in managing adult neurological communication and swallowing disorders in acute care and demonstrate commitment to evidence-based practice.

You will have excellent communication skills to enable you to thrive in collaborative, multidisciplinary environments.

Experience in leadership or mentoring is highly valued, as you will contribute to the growth and development of our emerging workforce.
