About the Opportunity
The Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency is seeking a full-time Deputy Director-General based in Honiara, Solomon Islands.
As a key member of the Executive team, you will support the Director-General by overseeing the governance and conduct of the Agency's strategic, technical, and administrative functions, ensuring the effective delivery of the FFA's work programme in alignment with member priorities.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Providing corporate governance oversight and contributing to the strategic management of the Agency
* Leading policy advice and coordination across technical and professional programmes
* Supporting and advising meetings of FFA Members and governing bodies
* Managing external engagements and high-level regional and international relationships
* Overseeing Country Partnership Agreements (CPAs) and member collaboration frameworks
* Directing business planning processes and organisational performance reporting
* Leading advocacy initiatives aligned with member priorities
* Managing donor relations and strategic funding partnerships
* Undertaking Acting Director-General duties as required

What You Will Bring
To qualify, you will need a tertiary qualification in fisheries management, fisheries development, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years' senior or executive leadership experience within an intergovernmental organisation, or a medium to large national, regional, or corporate organisation, will also be essential, along with demonstrated experience in governance and a deep understanding of Pacific fisheries issues.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
* Extensive knowledge of Pacific fisheries policy, management, and regional cooperation frameworks
* Experience operating within intergovernmental or multinational governance environments
* Strong strategic planning and organisational oversight capabilities
* Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder environments across multiple jurisdictions
* Experience engaging with Ministers, senior officials, donors, and development partners

Remuneration and Benefits
Compensation will be commensurate with skills and experience and includes a competitive tax-free salary package commencing circa US$115,417 – US$162,942, inclusive of COLDA and Location Allowances (subject to exchange rates), PLUS a comprehensive range of executive benefits including:
* Superannuation at 7.5%, paid into your nominated fund or as a cash supplement
* Full Reimbursement of medical, dental, and optical expenses for you and dependents
* Comprehensive Insurance including life, personal accident, medical, and repatriation cover
* Education Allowance covering 75% of tuition fees for dependent children (conditions apply)
* Paid school travel for dependents educated overseas

* Repatriation Allowance equivalent to two weeks' base salary at end of contract
* Retention Bonus of 21% of base salary, paid at end of the 3-year contract
