About the role:
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Head of Senior School holds strategic and operational responsibility for the effective functioning of the Senior School. This includes oversight of administration, student support, staff leadership, and community engagement. The role ensures Huntingtower’s values of kindness, respect, and excellence are reflected in all aspects of Senior School life, from daily operations to major events and parent communication.
Central to this role is the creation of a safe, inclusive and high-performing learning environment. By mentoring staff, guiding Year Level Coordinators, and leading responsive wellbeing and behavioural systems, the Head of Senior School supports students to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
A visible and collaborative leader, the Head of Senior School builds strong relationships across the school community and maintains a high profile in student life. Through strategic planning and data-informed decision-making, the role ensures cohesive delivery of year-level programs, student leadership initiatives and external assessments, while aligning Senior School priorities with whole-school goals.
With a focus on continuous improvement, the Head of Senior School promotes professional development, reflective practice and innovation in leadership and pedagogy. The role supports staff performance processes, facilitates parent engagement events, and ensures compliance with child safety obligations.
Terms and appointment:
The successful applicant will ideally commence Term 1, 2026 (or earlier by negotiation).
