The Tourism Industry Council South Australia (TiCSA) is a not-for-profit, member-based organisation with over 1,100 members. Established in 2009, TiCSA is the peak body for South Australia’s tourism industry and has two primary objectives – advocacy and business development. As the voice of tourism in South Australia TiCSA advocates on behalf of its members and the industry at large, to create a unified voice on the issues and opportunities facing the industry with the aim of unlocking the full economic potential of tourism in South Australia.
Role Overview
The Chief Executive Officer will provide strategic and operational leadership to achieve TiCSA’s mission, vision and strategic goals. Reporting directly to the Board, the CEO will oversee organisational performance, financial sustainability and governance, whilst fostering a high-performing, collaborative culture. The role is responsible for driving industry advocacy, building strong partnerships with Government and stakeholders, and delivering programs that strengthen the capability and growth of South Australia’s tourism industry.
Key responsibilities
* Leading the delivery of industry capability programs and partnerships;
* Representing TICSA as a trusted advocate with Government and industry;
* Overseeing governance, financial sustainability, and organisational performance;
* Building membership engagement and supporting growth initiatives;
* Driving innovation and continuous improvement across operations;
* Leading and developing a high-performing team culture.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate proven executive leadership with extensive experience in staff management, strategic planning and organisational development. Strong financial, stakeholder and political acumen are essential, along with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. A strong understanding of advocacy and tourism policy development is required. Experience working with Boards, together with a commitment to addressing current and emerging tourism issues will be highly regarded.
