These positions are part of production teams focused on safely and consistently achieving production targets whilst developing strong working relationships with operations and maintenance personnel.
We are looking for reliable, ambitious people who are motivated to develop into future operators of the organisation.Reporting to a Production Team Leader, the successful applicants will be responsible for the safe and effective day-to-day operation of plant and equipment, to safely and consistently achieve production targets.These roles are an integral part of our Production Teams and undertake a 12-hour shift work on a 2 day, 2 night and 4 off rotating roster pattern.You will be responsible for:The safe and effective operation of the plant and equipment within a designated production team to meet site production and organisational targetsAchieving benchmark performance levels of cost, safety, environment, quality and output rates for the operationCompliance with Nyrstar's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and conducting business in line with the Nyrstar Values of Respect, Excellence, Teamwork, Integrity and OwnershipBuilding a strong customer focus between maintenance and operating teamsAbility to self-manage behaviour and reactions, even under pressureA desire to work flexibly to ensure safety, environment and production targets are metEnsure housekeeping of the work area provides a safe and healthy environment at all timesWhat We OfferCompetitive salary packageCareer development pathways – our diverse and challenging work environment will present opportunities to grow and advance your skillsAll training providedSalary sacrifice for superannuationDiscounted health insurance and gym membershipEmployee assistance programAbout YouTo be successfully considered for this role, you will have:Proven ability to work safely, consistently, and reliably with minimal supervisionThe aptitude and flexibility to learn and apply new skills in various operating rolesWillingness to accept responsibility and accountability for high performance standardsPositive communication skillsA team mentality that includes understanding the impact of attitude, punctuality, and attendanceA minimum educational standard (literacy and numeracy) of year 10 with good computer literacyPersonal alignment to the Nyrstar valuesPrevious experience on a construction or manufacturing site highly regardedFlexible, helpful attitude and enthusiasm to go 'above and beyond' to support broader departmental and operational needs as we growMust be confident in troubleshooting, problem solving and decision making abilitiesPhysically fit and able to undertake a range of manual handling tasksLicenses or qualifications in Working at Heights, Confined Space, Forklift, and White Card are advantageousShortlisted applicants will be required to participate in a half day Assessment Day held late October.

The facility uses the RLE process for zinc production.
Hobart's key products are SHG zinc, die cast alloys and CGG alloys.
