Who are we looking for?
We're seeking a Systems Administrator – Platform Services to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing GHD's Platform Services environment. This role is responsible for supporting technologies that enable productivity for GHD staff and contribute to the winning of work from GHD clients.
In this dynamic role you will:
* Directly contribute to project and operational delivery for Platform Services systems and products.
* Regularly monitor the performance of platform service technologies to minimise risk of outages and system errors.
* Ensure effective problem solving and analysis for escalations, with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Assist with managing upgrades and planned system outages in accordance with change processes and guidelines; contribute to projects, deployments, and initiatives.
* Be a key contributor in the development and delivery of a Platform Services strategy and business plan across GHD.
* Collaborate with and support peers and their initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of the global technology team.
* Proactively update your manager on work progress, improvement opportunities, potential issues, and other relevant information.
* Produce professional and quality reports, communications, and presentations as required.
* Develop and maintain collaborative and positive relationships with your team, peers, and other IS teams.
* Securely design, implement, and manage GHD ICT systems and services, managing technical risk in accordance with the GHD Risk Management Framework.
* Continually build your knowledge of GHD's business and technologies, and keep up to date on industry and technology trends.
What you will bring to the team:
* Expertise in core enabling technologies such as datacentre operations, storage fabrics, virtualisation platforms, cloud technology architecture, and related technologies.
* Expertise in data protection technologies such as disaster recovery, business continuity platforms, and related technologies.
* Advanced knowledge in data security technologies and concepts such as Microsoft Purview.
* Advanced knowledge of system vulnerabilities and resolutions.
* Highly developed technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Proactive, professional, and collaborative communication style, with the ability to build strong relationships.
* Well organised, attentive to detail, decisive, self-managing, and motivated.
Qualifications:
* Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
* 3+ years' experience in a global professional services organization in a large helpdesk/desktop environment or system administrator role.
* Experience in large Microsoft environments and applications, storage technologies, virtualisation platforms, and cloud.
* Relevant industry certifications.
* Experience in large Microsoft Azure environments.
* Experience managing NetApp ONTAP infrastructure, including provisioning, configuration, and operational support.
