We're seeking an experienced Management Accountant to support our growing operations across three Tasmania Hardware entities. This is a rare opportunity to step into a broad, hands-on role where your analytical skills, systems expertise, and accounting knowledge will make a direct impact.
About the Role
Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial data, supporting decision-making, and ensuring compliance across multiple business units. Your focus will span financial processing, month-end close, reporting, systems consolidation, and internal stakeholder support. This position will be ideal for someone who thrives on variety and is confident working both independently and collaboratively. This role will lead a team of 6.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Process
* Assist in delivering critical finance, accounting and compliance functions
* Complete EOM cut-off and rollover tasks
* Liaise with internal stakeholders to gather and compile EOM information and reports
* Consolidate accounts for three entities
* Upload period-end data to group systems for all entities
* Maintain and reconcile General Ledger and sub-ledgers with detailed analysis
* Download and input monthly financials into reporting templates
* Act as a back-up for payroll processing
Reporting & Analysis
* Assist with Monthly Store and Consolidated P&L production
* Support business analysis and management reporting requirements
* Contribute to both internal and external reporting and compliance obligations
* Support AP team and inventory reconciliations
* Collaborate with operational teams on rebate governance and management
* Work with Merchandise and Finance teams on rebate tracking and management
What You'll Bring
* Degree qualified (or progressing) in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
* 3–5 years' experience in a similar finance role, ideally within an FMCG environment
* Experience in leading teams, ideally >4 people
* Proven experience with computerised accounting systems and Excel (advanced level)
* Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset and excellent organisational skills
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Versatile, multi-skilled and ability to work in a fast-paced high-volume environment as part of a small highly skilled team
* A team player with a proactive attitude and high accountability
