Operations Superintendent
This role is focused on the maintenance and operation of complex systems and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Directs work groups and/or units engaged in activities associated with the planning, construction, maintenance, operation, repair, renovation, alteration, and demolition of buildings, structures, equipment, machinery, and other facilities.
* Obtains, evaluates and may negotiate bids from outside engineering, architectural, and construction firms.
* Establishes schedules and budgetary controls, allocates expenditures, and oversees the coordination of major construction activities requiring integration with engineering, architectural, contracts and government agencies.
* Ensures compliance with contract specifications, insurance requirements, and local building codes.
* Reviews and approves architectural /engineering drawings.
* Participates in the department strategic planning process and ensures appropriate skills are available when needed.
* Develops and maintains relationships with other engineering organizations to keep abreast of developments in allied fields.
* Interprets, executes and recommends modifications to organizational policies and corporate initiatives.
* Establishes and maintains quality systems and instills values and ethics.
* Hires employees. Manages dismissals. Conducts performance evaluations. Plans and approves salary increases. Manages discipline and documentation steps in problem employee situations.
* Establishes department and individual performance goals. Reviews employees' performance against goals. Champions, coaches and motivates team members. Develops and trains subordinates.
Requirements:
* Must be a US or Australian citizen.
* Must Possess a US TS/SCI with Polygraph or AUS PV Clearance.
* Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or technical equivalent and a minimum of 8 years directly related facilities experience.
* In lieu of formal education, 16 years of directly related and progressively complex experience.
* 4 years of specialized military experience in the relative field can be substituted for a BA/BS degree.
Additional Information:
This role will be located in Alice Springs. This position is expected to be onsite 100%. The successful candidate must be able to adapt to changing conditions, technologies, and requirements.
