Role details The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Unit at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Health Equity Project Officer to join their team on a temporary basis. Your opportunity To facilitate the development of integrated approaches between primary, secondary and tertiary health care (the health care delivery system) to maximise health gains for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people over the life course from maternity and child health services to the older population and those managing complex chronic conditions. This position is an opportunity to work within the public healthcare system and work collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, their health organisations and general practice, to realise the Mackay HHS vision of excellence in healthcare, wellbeing, research and education in Regional/Central Queensland. About the Team The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Unit is an essential element of the Mackay HHS support services and ensures the development and delivery of culturally appropriate services and models of health care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and families.
