Location: Murarrie, free onsite parking

Contract Type: 12 month Fixed Term Contract
About The Role**
Join Goodstart Early Learning — a not-for-profit organisation with a clear vision: Australia's children deserve the best possible start in life. With more than 16,500 team members across nearly 700 centres and supporting approximately 70,000 children, Goodstart is Australia's largest provider of early learning and care.

Goodstart is committed to laying the foundation for better lives through exceptional early learning experiences. Recognising that this mission relies on outstanding people, they are now seeking an experienced SAP Technical Business Analyst to join a key SAP Readiness Project.

This critical project represents the starting block for a future SAP migration. Its initial phase is focused on identifying current system gaps, documenting manual processes and workarounds, and ultimately establishing a roadmap for SAP success.

This is not a junior BA role -
As the SAP Technical Business Analyst for the SAP Readiness and Implementation Initiative, you will play a critical role in bridging business requirements with technical solutions, focusing on SAP custom developments, data integration, and technical design. This role complements the SAP Functional Business Analyst by providing deep technical expertise to ensure robust, scalable, and efficient solutions that align with business objectives.

You will work closely with developers, architects, and business stakeholders to define technical requirements, support data migration, design integration solutions, and enable custom SAP enhancements. A strong understanding of SAP Finance processes and ERP architecture will be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

* Analyse business requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications for SAP custom developments and integrations.
* Collaborate with functional BAs and developers to design and implement technical solutions, including ABAP enhancements, Fiori apps, and SAP BTP components.
* Define and document integration requirements for SAP and third-party systems.
* Work with data teams to define data migration strategies, mapping, and validation processes.
* Ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance with governance standards during migration.
* Support development of data archiving and retention strategies in line with SAP best practices.
* Partner with SAP developers to deliver custom solutions that meet business needs while adhering to SAP standards.
* Provide technical input on system architecture, performance optimization, and security considerations.
* Support API development and middleware integration for seamless data exchange.
* Develop and execute technical test plans for custom developments and integrations.
* Support defect resolution and performance tuning during testing phases.
* Work closely with functional BAs, developers, and business SMEs to ensure alignment between technical and functional requirements.
* Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
* Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, integration diagrams, and data flow models.
* Maintain version control and ensure documentation is accessible and up to date.

About You (Must-Have)

* Proven experience as an SAP Technical Business Analyst—this is non-negotiable.
* Strong knowledge of SAP technical architecture, including ABAP, Fiori, and SAP BTP.
* Experience in analysis of custom development, system integration, and performance optimisation.
* Familiarity with Signavio for mapping and optimising business processes.
* Experience with SAP HXM (preferably Cloud) and a solid understanding of SAP migrations.
* Strong process mapping and gap analysis skills across finance, payroll, and integrated systems.
* Confidence in managing stakeholder resistance and driving consensus through influence.
* Experience working with large, complex data environments and legacy system integrations.
* Ability to identify and document risks and opportunities across interconnected systems.
* Excellent communication and facilitation skills—this role requires you to build solid relationships and guide.

Work Environment

* Majority of the team is based onsite, and while some flexibility exists, preference is for in-office presence for workshops, whiteboarding, and stakeholder collaboration.
* No travel required.
* You'll work closely with a supportive project team, including a newly appointed Leader, PM and internal SMEs.'
