Our client based in Melbourne is one of Australia's largest clothing and post-consumer reuse and recycling companies, finding second homes for Australia's unwanted clothes and post-consumer products in local and global communities where they are needed the most.
Their vision is to support a circular economy by being a global leader in re-purposing post consumer products.
Our client is current seeking a highly skilled International Alliances & Export Manager.
This is a multi-function position that would suit someone who has had global working experience, strategic international networks and experience in international shipping and port operations.
On offer is a Full-Time role, working Monday to Friday,8:30am-5:30pm, and as required depending upon international time zones.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Leading the company's international and strategic alliances with Sri Lanka, evaluating geopolitical and geographic synergies for company expansion
- Leveraging your political and business contacts to continue advancing relationships with key Sri Lankan partners to build the company's business interests in Sri Lanka
- Contribute to feasibility studies for vertical integration in Sri Lanka
- Business development of the company's products for export to Sri Lanka, including the establishment of new markets
- Assist in managing export documentation for all brands within the company
- Advising on safety laws & compliance regulations for warehouse and plant operations in Sri Lanka
- Communicating with overseas factories and port authorities
- Assist in managing stock dispatch from our warehouse to key customers
- Liaising with overseas agents & completing all relevant export documentation
- Assisting with customer service inquiries
- Providing updates and ensuring strong communication to both shippers and all overseas partners
- Optimizing transport planning and execution for all outbound products
- Manage key supplier relationships, contract performance, and continually look for improvements to cost, service or innovations
- Research and implement new transport or logistics routes for driver contractors or requirements local or international
- Research and implement digital automation tools for route optimization
**Qualifications**
**To be successful you will have the following skills and attributes;**
- Fluency in speaking Sinhalese is **Mandatory**:
- Strong business contacts and network in Sri Lanka
- Experience in global sales and export markets, establishing new business and working in Sri Lankan shipping port operations
- Strong understanding shipping port free zone requirements, local employment, and operations laws in Sri Lanka
- Friendly personality, good communication, presentation, and willingness to assist others team members as and when required
- Shipping and/or Freight forwarding experience will be advantageous
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of the commercial and operational complexities within the global freight & logistics sector
- Attention to detail and ability to perform critical self-review prior to the submission of tasks
- Have a positive attitude and be able to stay calm under pressure
- The ability to work independently as well as a part of a team
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills and ability to multitask A positive "Can Do" attitude.
**Salary**: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
