Automation AnalystThe Role We're seeking an experienced Automation Analyst to join our Quality Assurance team and drive testing excellence across Auto & General's digital ecosystem. You'll design, develop, and maintain comprehensive automated testing solutions that ensure our applications meet rigorous quality standards whilst delivering exceptional customer experiences. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll contribute to evolving our automation frameworks, implement strategic testing solutions, and help establish testing best practices that enable rapid, scalable delivery. Your expertise will be instrumental in building confidence in our releases through intelligent, maintainable automation. Your Team You'll join our collaborative Automation Testing Team within the Technology division at our offices, reporting to the Test Lead. This dynamic team is at the forefront of quality assurance, partnering with developers, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-performance solutions that our customers can rely on.Key ResponsibilitiesUI Test Automation: Develop robust, maintainable UI automation scripts using Playwright and Cypress, translating user stories and acceptance criteria into effective test scenariosFramework Development & Evolution: Contribute to designing, enhancing, and scaling our automation frameworks, ensuring they support current and future testing needsCode Quality & Standards: Apply industry best practices for test automation, including clean code principles, peer code reviews, and documentation standardsCI/CD Pipeline Integration: Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Bamboo, GitLab) to provide rapid feedback on code quality and system stabilityRegression Testing: Execute, monitor, and continuously refine our automated regression suites, analysing results and collaborating with teams on defect resolutionAutomation Strategy: Develop and implement testing strategies that reduce manual effort, improve efficiency, and support business goalsKnowledge Sharing: Document test assets, share learnings with the team, and actively mentor others in automation best practicesAI-Assisted Development: Leverage modern tools including ACE and Copilot to enhance automation script development and defect analysisWhat You'll Bring Essential Experience:Minimum 3 years' as an Automation Analyst, QA Automation Engineer, or similar roleDemonstrated expertise with modern UI automation frameworks (Playwright, Cypress)Strong knowledge of CI/CD platforms and version control (Bamboo, Bitbucket, GitLab)Proficiency in building and extending test frameworks using Java or C#Solid understanding of REST API testing principles and toolsExcellent communication skills across technical teams, stakeholders, and managementA pragmatic, solution-focused mindset with resilience in the face of changeHighly DesirableExperience with both UI automation and API/unit testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit)Familiarity with DevOps toolchains: Gradle, JFrog Artifactory, and similar toolsKnowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Hands-on experience with containerisation (Kubernetes) and monitoring tools (New Relic, DataDog)Background in financial services or regulated industriesActive involvement with professional technology bodies or communitiesClose to a variety of public transport and easy parking options, the A&G offices havw excellent end of trip facilities (including secure bike storage and showers), outdoor spaces and plenty of modern collaborative areas to work and connect with colleagues.Hybrid Work: Work from home 2 days a week, with our office located in Toowong, North Lakes or KawanaExtra Leave: Paid 'ME' day, a paid volunteer day, and the option to purchase additional leave.Development Opportunities: Access to internal programs and online courses.Employee Discounts: Discounts on Budget Direct insurance products.Reward and Recognition: Celebrate high performance with recognition, rewards, and incentives.Onsite Facilities: End-of-trip facilities and private spaces for nursing mothers.Get Social: Participate in vibrant social and community activities, including annual celebrations.About us Auto & General (A&G) is the fastest-growing major Motor and Home insurer in Australia, providing insurance products and solutions to safeguard a brighter future for our customers and community.
