Senior Case Management Officer (Custody)

Location – Aldavilla

Employment type – Ongoing, Full time

Salary – $113,574 to 125,720pa +Superannuation +Annual Leave loading

Your role

Lead and oversee a Case Management Unit within a Correctional Centre or Cluster, empowering staff and enhancing inmate access to meaningful interventions that support rehabilitation and reduce reoffending.

N.B. This role will involve face to face contact with inmates.

What you’ll do

* Coordinate the daily operations of the Case Management Unit (CMU) within a custodial environment to ensure consistent delivery of high‑quality outcomes.
* Provide supervision, guidance and administrative leadership to Case Management Officers across the Correctional Centre or Cluster, supporting strong professional practice and team performance.
* Allocate and regularly review offender caseloads in line with the Case Management Delivery Schedule to maintain equitable workloads and service standards.
* Manage a portfolio of complex cases when required, ensuring tailored interventions and effective support for higher‑risk inmates.
* Lead, organise and chair onsite Case Conferences for high‑risk or high‑needs inmates, facilitating collaborative, multi‑stakeholder planning and decision‑making.
* Work collaboratively with Classification & Placement, Managers of Programs & Services, Parole Units and external service providers to maximise intervention opportunities and support seamless reintegration into the community.
* Contribute to the development, review and improvement of operational procedures and systems to enhance case management practices and drive continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for

Key Knowledge and Experience

* Highly developed skills in offender supervision and the case management of complex clients, demonstrating sound judgement and evidence‑based practice.
* Knowledge of, or experience in delivering, client services and rehabilitative programs, with an understanding of how targeted interventions support behavioural change.
* Strong understanding of contemporary corrections issues, priorities and best‑practice approaches, including rehabilitation, risk management and reintegration.
* Proven ability to source, interpret and analyse complex information, conduct thorough risk and needs assessments, and develop high‑quality, tailored case plans.
* Ability to provide professional supervision, coaching and development to new Case Management Officers throughout work‑based training and the mandatory probation period, fostering capability and confidence.

Essential requirements

* Current and valid driving licence and willingness to travel within NSW
