Alamanda College is located in the growth corridor of Point Cook and strives to be internationally minded, providing a supportive, nurturing and challenging learning environment that encourages high expectations for student success.
Alamanda College is currently involved in two building upgrade projects.
Over the next 3–4 years portable buildings will be replaced through a VSBA master-plan to create open-plan, flexible learning communities that support collaborative teaching and learning.
Alamanda is a 1-to-1 iPad/MacBook school and uses technology to engage students.
Staff must be confident in using technology to support classroom instruction and be willing to participate in ongoing professional learning.
All children can learn.
High expectations, personalised learning, goal setting and differentiation of curriculum are central to the school's theory of action.
Selection Criteria – Graduates
SC1:Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the capacity to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills, and to respond to student learning needs.
SC2:Capacity to implement high-impact teaching strategies and evaluate their effectiveness on student growth.
SC3:Ability to monitor and assess student learning and use data to inform teaching practice and provide feedback to students and parents.
SC4:Interpersonal and communication skills, establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community.
SC5:Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, continual professional learning and reflective practice.
Role – Graduates
The primary focus of a Range 1 classroom teacher is to develop skills and competencies to become an effective practitioner with structured support and guidance from senior teachers.
Responsibilities include teaching a year level, supervising students, and participating in policy and project development.

Planning and implementing a range of teaching programmes or courses of study.
Teaching an area of the curriculum or a general curriculum to a year level.
Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting student progress in key learning areas.
Implementing strategies to achieve targets related to student learning outcomes.
Maintaining records of class attendance and student progress.
Managing students in accordance with the school charter.
Collaborating with a mentor on professional development, reflection, and portfolio building.
Additional responsibilities may include:
Supervising student activities and welfare programmes.
Contributing to co-curricular programmes.
Who May Apply – Graduates
To be eligible to apply, a teacher must:
Have completed their course requirements and graduated in the last four years.
Not be employed as a teacher by the Department at the time the advertised position commences.
Be currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.

Qualification Requirements
To be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class, the applicant must:
Have provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
If completed an Australian postgraduate level initial teaching programme on or after 1 January ****, be able to demonstrate satisfactory completion of an accredited programme.
If graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education (ITE) programme after 1 July ****, demonstrate passing the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE).
