Role description
We're looking for a passionate and skilled professional to support children 6 - 13 and their families through early intervention and mental health support.
Located within the Directorate of Healthy Communities and Social Support Services, the counselling and Psychology Team at Dhelkaya Health is committed to delivering accessible, timely, and high-quality mental health support.
Our experienced counsellors apply evidence-based therapeutic approaches and uphold best practice standards to support individuals facing mental health challenges. We offer short term, low-intensity counselling services, tailored to meet the needs of our community with compassion and professionalism.
Key responsibilities:
- Assess and support children experiencing emotional behavioural, or mental health challenges
- Provide evidence-based counselling, both in our centre and through outreach
- Offer timely referrals and information to families
- Work closely with community services to build strong support networks
- Support parents with appropriate interventions
- Understand and follow legal requirements, including mandatory reporting
- Complete required training and maintain professional registration
- Meet service targets and contribute to reporting and data collection
- Attend team and stakeholder meetings
- Collaborate with health and community services to ensure holistic care
- Perform other duties with your skills and experience
About you
- Tertiary Qualifications in Social Work
- Membership with appropriate professional body
