Job Description
Reporting directly to the Regional Lead, the HR Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting expanding operations in Australia and Asia Pacific with a primary focus on Western Australia, where the majority of the blue-collar workforce is based. This position requires a hands-on, operationally focused HR professional with strong expertise in industrial relations, enterprise agreement interpretation, and employee relations.
The responsibilities of this role will include:
o Operational support to leaders across Australia
o Interpret enterprise agreements and advise on IR and employee relations matters, maintaining productive union relationships
o Coach and support operational managers to develop leadership capabilities and ensure compliance with HR policies and legislation
o Implementing global policy and adapting for the region
o Recruitment including visa administration, employment contracts and onboarding
o Oversight of payroll.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will be a resilient, independent HR professional with extensive experience in industrial relations and managing blue-collar, unionised workforces. They will have a strong track record of interpreting EBAs and effectively managing robust, operational environments.
The role demands a balance between operational execution and strategic insight, requiring someone who can confidently manage day-to-day HR matters while contributing to longer-term workforce strategies.
Experience required includes:
o Experience in HR leadership within heavy industry, construction, mining, or transport sectors
o Proven expertise in industrial relations, enterprise agreement interpretation, and union engagement
o Strong coaching and relationship-building skills, particularly with operational managers
o Experience working autonomously
o Sound knowledge of Australian HR compliance, workers' compensation, and safety regulations
o Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR or related fields.
